School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeships (SBATs)

Learn To Work

The Smart and Skilled – School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeships (SBATs) are a great way to get a head start with the career you want, whilst completing your HSC and gaining ATAR university pathways.

A school-based traineeship combines paid work, training and school.

When and How To Start?

You can start an SBAT in Year 10 or Year 11

1. Talk about your career ideas with your school Careers Adviser and parents/carers.

2. Find an employer, either yourself or with the support of your Envirotech or school career adviser.

3. Work with your school to submit an application to establish a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship.
